Privacy Policy

See how Jesuscord handles account, device, and website information, what choices you have, and how to contact the team about privacy and data.

Last updated: November 5, 2026

JesusCord (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the JesusCord website and the JesusCord apps for Android, iOS, web, and desktop. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Your name, profile photo, and the phone number or email address you sign in with. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and account identifier from that provider. You can also use JesusCord as a guest without providing a phone number or email address.
  • Rooms and messages: Rooms you create or join, room settings, membership, invitations, messages, threads, polls, pins, and saved messages.
  • Photos, videos, and files: Photos, videos, audio files, and documents you attach to messages, and images you choose for your profile or a room.
  • Contacts (optional): If you choose to find people you know and grant access to your device contacts, the app sends a hashed (one-way encrypted) form of each contact’s phone number together with the contact’s display name. We use this to show which of your contacts already use JesusCord and to help you invite others. You can use JesusCord without granting contacts access.
  • Material for Mission Kits and Helper: Sermon notes, text, links (including YouTube links), and questions you give to Helper.
  • Feedback and support: Messages you send to us and any feedback you share in the app.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Screens and features you use, actions such as opening a video or creating a room, and session information.
  • Device and app information: Device model, operating system, app version, language, and identifiers such as the push notification token and an analytics identifier. We do not collect the Android Advertising ID or the Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and we do not show ads in JesusCord.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and security events. Our analytics providers may derive an approximate country or city from your IP address. We do not collect precise location.

Purchases

Subscriptions bought in the app are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and purchases on the web are processed by Stripe. We receive the plan, status, and dates of your subscription. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide JesusCord: sign you in, run rooms and messages, deliver notifications, play videos, and show the Bible and library.
  • Run Helper and Mission Kits: summarize conversations, answer questions, and prepare share cards, summaries, captions, and images from material you provide.
  • Manage your account and subscription.
  • Understand how JesusCord is used so we can fix problems and improve it.
  • Keep JesusCord safe: prevent abuse, review reports, and enforce our Terms of Use.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your messages or room content for advertising. Limited usage data is shared with Google Ads as described in section 5.

3. AI Features

Helper and Mission Kit preparation use large language models. When you use these features, the relevant text (for example, your question, the room conversation Helper is asked about, or the sermon material you provide) is sent to an AI model provider through OpenRouter to generate a response. These providers process the content to return a result and act on our behalf. AI output can be inaccurate. AI in JesusCord does not preach, counsel, or replace your pastor.

4. Videos From YouTube

JesusCord uses YouTube API Services to show videos from public YouTube channels. Videos play through YouTube’s embedded player, and YouTube may collect information about your viewing under its own terms. By watching videos in JesusCord you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles that information. You can revoke JesusCord’s access to your data through Google security settings, although JesusCord does not request access to your YouTube or Google account to show videos.

5. Service Providers

We share information with the following providers. Except for Google Ads as described below, they process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Google Firebase: sign-in with phone number, push notifications, and app analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase).
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads: our Google Analytics property is linked to Google Ads accounts. On Android and the web, app usage events, the app instance identifier, and your JesusCord user ID collected by Google Analytics may be used by Google to measure and improve advertising for Full Dive apps. On iOS, ad personalization signals are turned off, so this data is used for analytics only and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not collect the Android Advertising ID or the Apple IDFA, and we do not show ads in JesusCord.
  • Mixpanel: product analytics.
  • Google Cloud: file storage.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting and network security.
  • OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to: Helper and Mission Kit features.
  • Mailgun: sending sign-in codes by email.
  • Google Play, Apple App Store, and Stripe: payments and subscriptions.

We may also disclose information:

  • When you direct it: with the people you invite to a room or share a link with. Messages in a room are visible to that room’s members.
  • For legal reasons: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request.
  • For safety: to protect the rights, property, or safety of JesusCord, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

6. Security

All data is sent between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to rooms is controlled by membership, and rooms can be invite-only. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

7. Data Retention And Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide JesusCord, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

You can delete your account in the app at any time: Me → Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, the rooms you created with their messages, your saved messages, notifications, and preferences. Your messages in other people’s rooms are anonymized. You can also delete individual messages and rooms you created without deleting your account. For details, see How to Delete Your Account.

8. Your Choices And Rights

  • Contacts, photos, files: Access is optional. You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings at any time.
  • Notifications: You can turn off notifications per room or in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@jesuscord.com.

9. Children’s Privacy

JesusCord is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
